• OPAC - Walla Walla Catholic School’s online, searchable catalog. Students can use their login to reserve books. 

• Walla Walla Public Library - Free to city residents, (County residents can have their fee reimbursed at the Rural Library). With a WWPL card you also gain access to their OverDrive catalog with thousands of eBooks and audiobooks available on a computer or mobile device.

• National Emergency Library - Internet Archive has released digital copies of sources to students during the COVID-19 crisis. Users will need to create a login, but once that is done items can be “borrowed”

• Read-Aloud-Revival - RAR is a blog with a weekly podcast designed to encourage families to read. Their site is full of book lists and suggestions. There is even a book suggestion generator! This podcast gives a great explanation as to why WWCS has their Young Adult (YA) age set for 7th grade and up: https://readaloudrevival.com/132/

• WA Library Association Book Awards - There are FOUR award categories each year with links to each list on their main page (above link) or hyperlinked below

• The William C. Towner Award - Informational text for grades 2-6

• The Sasquatch Award - Chapter books for grades 4-6

• The Washington Children’s Choice Picture Book Award - Picture book award for grades K-3

• The OTTER (Our Time to Enjoy Reading) Award - For transitional readers in grades 1-3

• Common Sense Media - a wonderful resource if you are not sure if the book your student is reading is appropriate. Books (and movies, and music, and games) are reviewed by kids and parents. They offer age suggestions, ratings for postive message, positive role models, violence, sex, language, consumerism, and drinking/drugs/smoking.

• Redeemed Reader - another wonderful source for book reviews - thes are from a Christian perspective and give reasoning for their ratings.
