This team is open to any students in grades 9-12 interested in academic competition. The team practices an average of 45 minutes per week from late September through early March, competing at meets about once per month. The meets occur during the school day and allow our students to compete with teams from schools of all sizes throughout the area. To advance to state, the team must win the Regional tournament among schools of our league (currently 1B) in late February. The state tournament is in March each year.

The Council aims to develop maximum participation in school activities, encourage school spirit, and work toward full cooperation with faculty and administration. Any DeSales student, although they do not have a vote, may attend council meetings and voice an opinion or make a proposal to the Student Council.

Makerspace (Currently Inactive)
Faculty Contact: Eric Rohde
MakerSpace Club is after school once per week (in years where an advisor is available) for DeSales students who are interested in "making". At MakerSpace, we learn about the joys of tinkering and designing new and innovative projects. The club mainly focuses on electronics, but embraces all kinds of learning. MakerSpace primary focus is on 3D printers, how to fix them, calibrate them, and how to design models to print on them. Students will also be able to take part in interesting and fun activities that were focused on in previous years such as Command Line Scavenger Hunts, and the Build-Your-Own Retro Game Console Tournament. All students are welcome and encouraged to attend!
