Create a portal account on FINALSITE HERE and apply for the 2024-2025 academic year or contact Madalene Baird if you are interested in transferring immediately. There is no fee for this step.
Please note that by applying to our school you are giving approval for us to contact your child's current school and request records such as:
STEP 2: APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID (Optional Step)
If you wish to apply for financial aid, you must do so within one week of applying to the school. You can do so here. A school application MUST be submitted PRIOR to applying for financial aid. Results will not be given until the application has been completed. If you have questions about financial aid or tuition, please reach out to Michelle Green at [email protected] or (509)525-3030.
STEP 3: COMPLETE CHECKLIST ITEMS
Please note that after submitting the initial application there are checklist items in the portal that must be completed according to the indicated deadlines in order for the application to remain active and to qualify for a discounted enrollment fee. These items will vary according to grade level and you will only see the items that apply to your student in the portal. Some items will NOT appear immediately so please allow at least 2 days for processing and check back into your account to see the updated list.
CONFIDENTIAL TEACHER EVALUATION
We require parents to request a confidential teacher evaluation as part of our admissions process for students (Pre-K-12) that are currently enrolled at another school (not for our ELC students). The direct insight that a teacher is able to provide us regarding your child is an invaluable resource for us as we desire to understand and serve each student according to their unique and individual needs. It is also important to determine if WWCS will be the right fit and able to meet the needs your child has or if he or she will be better served elsewhere. After submitting the initial application, please click on the "checklist items" in your parent portal account where you submitted the application. You will be able to submit a request for a confidential teacher evaluation by entering the teacher's name and email address. For students in grades 6 -12, you will need to submit this to two teachers of core subjects, such as math or english.
RECORDS REQUEST
Please send a request to your student's school registrar or secretary for pre-liminary records for us to review prior to the interview. This is for grades 1-12 transferring from another school.
KINDERGARTEN EVALUATION
All incoming Kindergarten students must be evaluated prior to admission. For students enrolled at the ELC, a recommendation in the Spring by the teacher will be sufficient. For students outside of our school system, you will be prompted by email to schedule this evaluation in the Spring (March-May). The exact date of evaluation will depend on your child's birthdate because we want to make sure we give your child the most amount of time for developmental growth before making a decision.
INTERVIEW
Once all requested documentation has been received, each new family will be invited to interview with our Principal, Mr. Lesko. You should complete this meeting no later that two weeks after being invited. Students in grades 6-12 should attend, for grades K-5, parents must attend, but it is optional for students. After meeting, additional requests for documentation, testing, or a shadow day may be made prior to acceptance.
After the interview and/or evaluation is completed (if needed), you will be notified if this student has been accepted by Walla Walla Catholic Schools and you will be invited to complete enrollment in the FINALSITE PARENT PORTAL (where you applied), which includes the following forms:
WWCS does not discriminate in the admission of students on the basis of race, color, gender, nationality or ethnic origin. Before admission, however, parents and students must satisfy the school’s admission requirements and complete the appropriate admissions process. Catholics and non-Catholics are both welcome at our schools.
Age Requirements for Kindergarten & First Grade
Kindergarten Readiness
All Kindergarten applicants must be evaluated and approved by the Kindergarten teacher. This is generally scheduled in late Spring to allow the child to demonstrate maximum development. Evaluation results will be given no later than May 31st, 2024. In unusual circumstances, the School may evaluate the readiness of students outside these guidelines, but only by approval of the Principal and classroom teacher.
